3 Simple Ways to Help the Environment

Hi!! Welcome to my blog! I’ve been gone for a while but I’m back with a new post about easy ways to help the environment in your daily life! Let’s all work together to keep Earth beautiful! ❤

1. Reusable Straws

Considering the amount of plastic in the oceans and the harm that plastic straws can do to marine animals, it’s always good to reduce the amount of plastic straws used! I linked an article about plastic from the Ocean Conservancy. If you have time, check it out!

A simple way to reduce plastic is to buy reusable straws. There are many different types available, including stainless steel and silicon. Also, they are so cheap! Here are the silicon straws (pictured above) that I got from Target. 🙂

2. Mason Jars/ reusable shopping bags

Another easy way to reduce waste is to use mason jars when grocery shopping. If your local produce store has a dry bulk foods area, this is the perfect way to use less plastic when shopping! If your store doesn’t have a bulk foods area, then an even simpler way to reduce waste in general is use reusable shopping bags instead of plastic bags.

3. Reusable water bottles/ mugs

This one is obvious and a no-brainer but it’s great to use reusable liquid containers! Water bottles and coffee mugs can go a long way in reducing the amount of waste produced. Some places, including Starbucks, will give you a small discount for filling up your own mug! Incentive y’all.

So, there are 3 EASY ways to reduce the amount of trash we produce! These 3 small changes in our everyday life can really make a difference. Thanks for stopping by and reading!
